Singles • Events

For additions or cancellations in our activity list email Doris. If you haven't signed up for the Everett Mountaineers Singles E-group, you are missing out on a lot of fun activities! Last minute event changes and additions will be emailed to you if you send an email to Doris. Please place "Everett Mountaineers" in the subject line.

For complete contact and signup information, consult the latest issue of The Mountaineers Go Guide. When you sign-up for a hike please give the leader the following information:

  1. your name
  2. whether you are a member or guest
  3. your telephone number
  4. an emergency contact name and telephone number

Mar. 13, Sat. - Deception Pass State Park . (E) 6-8 miles, minimal gain, but ups and downs. We'll visit the beaches and viewpoints.Meet at 8:00 am at Old Smokey Point Food Pavillion. To sign up contact leader. Leader: Penny Barker, 360-386-9261(call before 9 p.m.), pbarker81@hotmail.com.

Apr. 3, Sat. - John Wayne Trail, Army West . (E) 8+ miles, 500 gain. Hike the relatively flat and well-graded trail to the Boylston Tunnel just east of the old railway stop site of Boylston. The trail boasts of a variety of desert wildlife and wildflowers.We will check out the system of burrows that is home to badgers that thrive in this area. Each hiker must carry a headlamp for the hike into the tunnel. Plan for an after-hike dine out in Ellensburg. Limit 8. Apr. 14, Wed. - 6:30 pm Singles Monthly Planning and Socializing Meeting . Come join us at 6:30 pm to eat and socialize. At 7:00 pm to plan next month's activities. Meet at Silver Lake Alfy's on Hwy. 527 in South Everett.1/2 price pizza when you mention you're there for mountaineers mtg. Leader: Barb Mark, bam.mark1@verizon.net. Apr. 16-18, Fri.-Sun. - Olympic Beach Clean-up . Join hundreds of volunteers removing marine debris from the beaches while enjoying this wild and remote section of Washington's coast. We will be cleaning up the section of beach from Rialto to Hole-in-the-Wall.Camping is free for the weekend at Mora Campground and if you are not interest in camping I can provide information on local motels and cabins that you can rent for the weekend. May. 1, Sat. - Hardy Canyon / Cleman Mountain . (M) 9 mi, 2500 gain. A collection of deciduous aspen, birch and cottonwood dominates this unique desert canyon.The brushy section of the trail provides cover for a variety of birds like ground-hugging grouse, trilling meadowlarks and western kingbirds. The thick foliage provides shelter to rattlesnakes as well and food for critters. Destination for this hike is the summit ridge of Cleman Mountain. Limit 8.
