Sea Kayaking Trips

Trips are open to all Mountaineers who have graduated from our course or have
been graduated equivalency. Sign up with the designated trip leader unless
otherwise noted. The sea kayaking group follows the procedures listed in the “Sending
you on your way” section, pg. 19 of this Go Guide, when signing up through
club headquarters. Please contact the leader as soon as possible to cancel
if you are unable to attend after signing up. The sea kayak essentials as listed
on pg. 19 are required and the trip leader may require additional equipment.

Sea Kayaking Essentials
In addition to the ten essentials, the following 12 items are required on all trips:
- Flotation at both ends of the Kayak
- PFD (USCG approved)
- Paddle
- Paddle tether
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with flotation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Whistle or air horn
- 50 ft. floating tow rope
- Waterproof flashlight or chemical lightstick
- Repair Kit (duct tape)
- Waterproof bag with extra clothing.
