Snowshoeing Trips
No formal prerequisite is necessary to
go on Everett Branch Snowshoe trips. Some hiking or winter travel
experience is preferable though. All participants need to be properly
equipped, with ten essentials and appropriate clothing and gear.
A Snowshoeing class
is offered annually. It is highly recommended that you have a shovel.
The trip leader may require other items such as an avalanche
beacon. Warm clothing is particularly important for winter outings.
Consider snowshoe trip ratings approximate because of changing
weather conditions.
Mileage and elevation gain figures are also approximate.
For those who have taken only the Everett Snowshoeing Course, please sign
up for trips that have under 2,000 elevation gain. Also please
only sign up for trips that you know you will be able to finish;
1,500 feet of elevation gain can be very difficult if you do not
participate in other
strenuous activities on a regular basis, even if you have completed
our snowshoe course.
