Class size minimum: 10
Class size maximum: 50

Member cost: $55.00

The mountain world turning totally white makes snowshoeing an absolutely unforgettable experience. Whether your aim is enjoying the winter wonderland or simple aerobic exercise, this course is for you.

This course is designed to provide basic knowledge, with no prior experience necessary. We will cover the basics in two evening lectures and one field trip. Our instructors are experienced snowshoers and mountaineers. The course also explains what to expect on a Mountaineers snowshoe trip, and how to sign up for trips. Successful completion of this course will qualify you to participate in all Everett branch snowshoe trips.

Note: After completing the course you will be able to participate in the EASY Seattle basic snowshoe trips. You can find the Everett Snowshoe trips on the Everett Mountaineers website at Snowshoeing • Trips.

Registration. Register through The Mountaineers Clubhouse at 206-284-8484 or toll free 1-800-573-8484 or by registering directly on-line at www.mountaineers.org. An info sheet is available by calling the Clubhouse. Registration opens on date listed in the class schedule. Identify the course as Everett Introductory Snowshoeing Course. If you have any trouble finding the activity on the website, call the clubhouse to help you. Call the Clubhouse about paying by check if you do not have a card.

If the course is not filled by the end registration date, you may call the course coordinator to see about late registration.

Applicants who are under 17 years of age must have parent or guardian permission and complete a supplemental parental permission form. Applicants under 14 years old must have an adult with medical authority participate in the course with them. You will receive these documents after you have registered for the course.

Equipment: If you have not purchased snowshoes, please wait until after the class on choosing your snowshoes. Bad snowshoes are a terrible misery. You will need adequate water proof boots and appropriate clothing. These and many other things will be covered in class. Even winter driving will be covered.

For direct questions email or call, Lynn or Larry Wathne, 425-359-9493, or snowshoe@everettmountaineers.org.
