The Everett Mountaineers Backpacking Class consists of two evening
lectures and one weekend backpack field trip. In the Backpacking
class you will learn techniques for trip planning, equipment selection,
preparing food, minimum impact camping, safety, wilderness ethics
and much more. Great class for beginning backpackers who want to
learn good skills and have a fun time on over night trips. We recommended
that those new to backpacking or hiking take the Everett Branch
Hiking and Ten Essentials class offered
in April. NOTE: You must attend both lectures in order to participate
in the overnight field trip.
See the course schedule for location and times. The lectures typically
last 3 hours. For more information and to sign up, contact lead
instructor: Ralph Sanders, hiking@everettmountaineers.org.
