Conservation

The Everett Mountaineers is committed to preservation of the wilderness for present and future enjoyment. The Conservation Committee acts as an advocate for the branch in that cause, and participates in many local and regional initiatives. In the past, the committee has drafted letters opposing pavement of the Mountain Loop Highway, and protested commercial development of land designated for state parks.

The Conservation Committee keeps the branch informed about conservation issues, representing the branch on these issues, and works to counter the impact of wilderness use by generating awareness, enthusiasm, and interest in resource conservation.

For additional information on The Everett Mountaineers Conservation division, including future meeting dates, send e-mail to conservation@everettmountaineers.org.
